Webble

MCP server

Let AI clients like Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor ask your site's assistant questions.

Every Webble website can also be reached as an MCP server. An MCP client (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, your own agent) asks a question and gets the same answer a visitor would get from the widget, written from your site's content.

Turn it on

MCP is off by default. Open your website in the dashboard, press MCP and turn the server on. The panel shows the endpoint:

https://webble.it/api/mcp

Turning MCP off cuts every connection to that website at once, whichever way it was made.

Connect a client

A connection covers one or more of your websites. There are two ways to make one.

Sign in with OAuth

Clients that support OAuth (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor) only need the endpoint:

claude mcp add --transport http webble https://webble.it/api/mcp

The client opens your browser: sign in to Webble, pick the websites to connect, and approve. Only websites with MCP turned on can be picked.

Use an API token

For your own agents and scripts, send an API token as a bearer token. The connection covers the websites the token covers, so there is nothing to choose:

claude mcp add --transport http webble https://webble.it/api/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $WEBBLE_API_TOKEN"

The tools

list_sites lists the websites the connection can ask, each with the site value to pass to ask. Websites whose MCP is turned off are left out.

ask puts a question to a website's assistant.

ArgumentRequiredMeaning
questionyesWhat to ask the assistant.
sitewhen the connection covers several websitesWhich website to ask: the site value or the host from list_sites, e.g. dkr.srl.
conversationIdnoContinue an earlier conversation; it goes to that conversation's website. Leave it out to start a new one.
languagenoLanguage of the question, e.g. en or it.
timezonenoIANA timezone of the person asking, e.g. Europe/Rome.

It returns the assistant's answer, the site it answered for, and a conversationId. Pass the conversationId back with the next question to ask a follow-up. A conversation can only be continued by the connection that started it, and only while the website stays in the mode (test or live) it started in.

Usage and conversations

While the website is live, MCP answers count toward your plan's interactions just like widget answers. The dashboard shows how many came from each source, and MCP conversations carry an MCP badge in the conversation list. Once the website reaches its interaction threshold, ask returns an error until the next period.
