WebbleBot

WebbleBot is the crawler behind webble, an embeddable assistant that answers visitors' questions about the website it is installed on. To do that, webble indexes the website's public pages into a knowledge base the assistant reads from.

Why it visited your site

WebbleBot only crawls a website when that website's owner has added it to webble and started an indexing run — it does not discover or crawl sites on its own. If you see WebbleBot in your logs, someone responsible for the site (or its agency) has set up a webble assistant for it.

Crawl traffic originates from this IP address:

62.149.163.108

Blocked by your firewall or WAF?

An indexing run loads pages with a real browser, which some anti-flood rules (fail2ban, mod_evasive, WAF rate limits) can mistake for an attack. If a site you host should be indexable, whitelist the User-Agent or the IP addresses above in your rules.

Don't want it?

Ask whoever manages the website's webble account to remove the site or stop indexing it — crawling stops with it. Blocking the User-Agent above works too, but will surface as indexing errors in their dashboard.
